Danesh, the Producer, strongly welcome criticisms, praise and suggestions to improve from the readers. Please use the map as a general reference.
I'm surprised that Canada has very low enrollment of Malaysian students considering the number of world class universities there are in Canada. It could be due to the stigma that Canada is just a giant sheet of ice, which I can assure you that It is not; it is a beautiful and free country where the people are extremely friendly and welcoming.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your observation (Good to see readers analyzed the info) Couple of reason I think
ReplyDelete1) Canada, like Russia, is super cold may reinforce the stigma is Canada covered by icesheet
2) Distance factor, Canada is kinda far. Though UK is far from Malaysia, the universities there have long standing high reputation among Malaysians compensate the distance
3) The Data shown on the map is based on 2011 data. In future, should updates required, I'll look into getting 2012 data or above.
However, a quick comparison with United States, Australia, UK and Russia, enrolment growth in Canada among Malaysians is very high.
If you observe Singapore growth, I am not sure whether MOHE undercounted number students in Singapore in 2010 (like only 10 studied there, could be understatement
