Representing the Earth's Surface
One of the important principles of mapping is to understand the surface of the Earth. Since the Earth (terrestrial surface) is so complex for mathematics, scientists (i.e. physicists) and geodesists (specialists on Earth representation) came out with different models to represent the Earth. Understanding how to represent the surface is needed to create reference surface for heights and the coordinate system. Happy Listening.
